Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to chair a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers today amid talk that a Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards. Modi had earlier reportedly asked his Cabinet colleagues to present their self-appraisal reports.

The first cut-off for various courses in Delhi University will be announced on Thursday. Admissions to the first cut-off will commence from the same date. The fifth cut-off — the last one — will be declared on July 20. However, if seats remain vacant even after the fifth cut-off, colleges will notify the status of the same- coursewise and categorywise — on the university portal, college website and notice boards.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is to submit its Smart City project proposal to the Centre today. Earlier, the civic administration was supposed to submit the proposal on June 25, but postponed the process citing technical reasons.

Xiaomi is to launch the Mi Max phablet in India on Thursday. Mi Max has a large 6.44-inch display and comes in an all-metal body. Just 7.5 mm in thickness and weighing 203 g, the phablet is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.

Officials from Turkey and the European Union will meet on Thursday to officially open a new chapter of Ankara's negotiations to join the bloc. Officials would meet to open Chapter 33, which is a series of talks on "financial and budgetary provisions" that Turkey needs to meet in order to become a member. Chapter 33 will be the sixteenth chapter Turkey opened since October 3, 2005 when it first launched membership negotiations.
