The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrives in India today on a visit. He will hold talks with Prime Minister Modi on key issues including security and stability of the Gulf region. At least 16 pacts in a wide range of sectors such as nuclear energy, oil, IT, aerospace and railways are likely to be inked during the visit.

Over one lakh jewellery shops will down shutters to protest the Centre’s compulsory PAN rule. Effective January 1, the government has made PAN cards a mandatory provision for jewellery transactions of over ₹2 lakh.

Vodafone is set to launch its high-speed 4G service in Mumbai. The company had rolled out the service in Delhi-NCR last week. Vodafone will be the second operator to roll out 4G service in Mumbai. Bharti Airtel has already launched the service to take on the new entrant Reliance Jio.

US Fed Chair Janet Yellen will appear before the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee to deliver the central bank’s semi-annual monetary policy report. Yellen is likely to walk a tight rope as investors would try to read into her comments for possible clues on Fed’s actions in the coming months.
