The staff of 56 regional rural banks will go on a three-day strike from today. The United Forum of Gramin Bank Unions is protesting the alleged move by the Centre to privatise the RRBs and also to press for a pension scheme for the staff. The unions also the want the government to dump the Mitra Committee report, which mooted cuts in staff strength at branches.
