The government will release data on inflation based on Wholesale Price Index (WPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) for February 2016 today. Rating agency Ind-Ra expects the WPI to remain negative and CPI likely to drop as compared to January 2016. The market will take its cues from the data. Watch the indices!

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will attend a Saarc meet in Pokhra. At the meet, India expects a comprehensive review of decisions that have been taken at Saarc forums over the past year and a half, especially India-initiated proposals like Saarc satellite.

Telangana State Finance Minister Eatala Rajender will present the State Budget today. The Budget Session of the Telangana Assembly began on March 10 and will run till March 29. This will his third Budget after the new State was formed in 2014

Pakistan will play its first match of this year’s World T20 event against Sri Lanka in a warm up game at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stadium. The team arrived in India on Saturday evening after the Pakistani government gave its travel clearance, after much delay.

A new round of the Syria peace talks begins today. The EU foreign ministers will discuss the Syrian civil war and relations with Russia and Iran. The UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said the talks will focus on forming a transitional government formation, drafting a new constitution and holding general elections within 18 months.
