The Delhi High Court is to resume hearing in the Tata Sons-NTT DoCoMo case today. In November 2009, Japan's NTT DoCoMo acquired 26.5 per cent stake in Tata Teleservices for about Rs 12,740 crore. The two also agreed that in case DoCoMo exits the venture within five years, it will be paid a minimum 50 per cent of the acquisition price. But RBI ruled that the option was not valid and any payment would have to be made at fair market value.

An Indian communication satellite GSAT-18 is scheduled to be launched between 0200 and 0315 hours (IST) on Wednesday from the spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana by European commercial satellite launch company Arianespace's Ariane 5 flight. Ariane 5 will deliver a lift performance of more than 10,600 kg on the mission to a geostationary transfer orbit (GTO).

The Madras High Court is to get 15 new judges today. These 15 names are part of a batch of 24 cleared by the Supreme Court Collegium in July. Of the 15, nine are from among lawyers and six from the subordinate judiciary. The nine lawyers are V. Parthiban, R. Subramaniam, M. Govindaraj, M. Sundar, R. Sureshkumar, Ms. Nisha Banu, M.S. Ramesh, S.M. Subramaniam and Dr. Anita Sumanth. The six district judges are S. Baskaran, Basheer Ahmed, G. Jayachandran, C.V. Karthikeyan, R.M.T. Teeka Raman and N. Seshasayee.

Google is expected to launch its so-called Pixel smartphones today. Google has decided to discontinue its Nexus series. The previous Nexus phones and tablets were also launched around this time of the year. The Pixel phone, running on Android 7.0 Nougat, is expected to come in two variants; Pixel and Pixel XL, which differ in terms of the form size. There’s also a chance that we might see the renaissance of Nexus 7 tablet (or perhaps Pixel 7).

The Lorry Owners’ Federations of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have announced an indefinite strike from Wednesday if the Karnataka government fails to compensate them for the lorries gutted in the recent violence over the Cauvery river water sharing. A strike would freeze the intra-State movement of over 4.50 lakh lorries of the two states, and over 40,000 lorries of other States that will have to pass via the two States.
