The government has appointed former Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami as the new chairman of the governing board of the Chennai-based Kalakshetra Foundation.
The Ministry of Culture stated in a notification yesterday that Gopalaswami has been appointed for a term of five years, according to a release here.
The government had earlier on June 3 accepted the resignation of Gopalkrishna Gandhi from the chairmanship of the foundation.
Gandhi, the former West Bengal governor, had submitted his resignation on May 21 this year, the release added.
