MSR Prasad, an outstanding scientist has been appointed as Director of the Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad.
The 55-year-old Prasad is project director of the advanced naval systems group at DRDL, one of the key labs under the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO). He has made significant contributions in the design, development and production of long range ballistic missiles for the Indian Navy.
Prasad is a B Tech from IIT Madras and M Tech in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Bombay. He joined the DRDL as scientist in 1984.
Additional ChargeG Satheesh Reddy, the Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri has been given the additional charge of Director General, Missiles and Strategic Systems (DG-MSS), DRDO.
