The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to extend the monorail timings to 14 hours a day from April 15. The services will run from 6 am to 8 pm, in an attempt to cater to more passengers,
As per the extended schedule, the services will run at a frequency of 15 minutes. The first train will depart at 6 am from Wadala and Chembur stations said Dilip Kawathkar, Joint Project Director (PR), MMRDA, in a media statement.
Ever since the monorail services were opened to public from February 2, the services have been running from 7 am and 3 pm.
Kawathkar added that extending timings would help in serving the evening rush hours. Currently, 64 services are running, which will increase to 112.
