Chennai based start-up, Brigge, which is an activity-based social app that allows users to plan leisure activities with people of interests, will be launching in Bengaluru with city’s first-ever leisure festival, ‘Bangalore Hobby Week’, starting August 26 to September 4.
Bangalore Hobby Week is a coming together of people with similar interests to do something they commonly love. The week’s activities will feature an array of hobbies, both common and niche across the city, hosted by the community for the community. There certainly will be something for everyone!
Sampath Jagannathan, co-founder, Brigge said, “Bangalore Hobby Week will see more than 100 activities, 20 plus hobbies, 30 plus champions across 30 venues in the city. Some of the activities listed include, nail art fests, showcasing of military collectibles, workshops on the basics of writing, board games evening, poetry reading sessions, mix and learn cocktail workshops, roof top movie screenings, Bangalore video gamers meet up, music jams, drum Jams, laughter carnivals, Yoga challenges, sneaker collection showcases, beer workshops — an introduction to beer — 101 — history, ingredients, brewing process, sampling, aqua zumba introductory sessions, basics of tech blogging and belly dancing workshops amongst others.”
“Anyone with an interesting hobby and wanting to connect with others with a similar interest can create an activity during the Bangalore Hobby Week, through a simple process; sign up with Brigge, create a group for one’s hobby, create activities from the group that you would like to host , include the date, time and venue details for your hobby activity and share the group and the activity within your network (FB, Twitter, WhatsApp etc.) to get members and activity participants,” added Prasanna Jagannathan, co-founder, Brigge.

Brigge Technologies, the developers of the platform received ₹1 crore seed funding from The Chennai Angels (TCA) in Sepember 2015 at the idea stage to develop and validate the product. The Brigge platform on Android, iOS and web was validated in Chennai for three months before the Bengaluru launch. ing in Bangalore.
