Tata Sons will hold its annual general meeting today. The board has sought shareholders’ approval through special resolutions to amend its article of associations to convert the company froma public limited entity to a private limited one. It has also sought to amend the memorandum of association to change its name to Tata Sons Pvt Ltd.

Tata Motors will unveil its Nexon compact SUV today. The Nexon follows the roll out of three new models, the Tata Tiago, Hexa and the Tata Tigor. Tata Motors is likely to price the Nexon aggressively between ₹7 lakh and ₹11 lakh.

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal will hear the appeals of McDonald’s India and Vikram Bakshi. At its hearing on September 7, NCLAT had not given any interim relief to Bakshi, McDonald’s India’s estranged partner, who had challenged the termination of the franchise agreement by the US-based fast-food chain.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 will hit the Indian market today. Priced at ₹67,900, the Note 8 will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colours. Samsung is betting big on the Note 8 to make up for the recall of the Note 7 last year.

Pakistan’s PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will address the UN General Assembly today, where he may raise the Kashmir issue. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Syed Akbaruddin last week had criticised Pakistan’s decision to raise the Kashmir issue at the UN, which has not been discussed at the world body for decades.
