A two-wheeler rider drives through the toxic froth from Bellandur Lake in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The lake began spilling toxic foam onto the streets after a week of heavy rainfall.
Residents complained of foul smell and some said the froth had entered their homes.
The lake, one of the largest of the 262 lakes in Bengaluru, has spilled toxic foam many times in the recent past. The National Green Tribunal had in April directed the shutdown of 76 polluting units around the lake.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said the problem would be solved in two years.
