Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL), on Wednesday, announced that the Tata-DAV Public School at Mithapur in Gujarat has achieved the world record for the "Largest Tree Hug" from The Guinness World Record.

The initiative saw the active participation of 1,316 school students and staff to make it a success.

The objective of this initiative was to spread the message of conservation of natural resources and the need to nurture the environment. The world title of the "Largest Tree Hug" was earlier with Korea but, with this successful attempt of TCL-DAV Public School, it is now in India’s account. More than 1,450 people gathered around to witness the event and encourage the participants, said, Bharatbhushan Kathpalia, Vice President, TCL, Mithapur.

The Guinness Book of World Records itself holds a world record as the best-selling copyrighted book of all time. With the 2017 edition, it is now in its 63rd year of publication, published across 100 countries and 23 languages.
