Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today suggested the construction of a replica of the Tirupati temple on a hillock in Amaravati.

Following a review meeting on Amaravati, the Chief Minister said the proposed ‘City Gallery’ will serve as ‘Amaravati Experience Centre’ and come up on a 4.5-acre site with an outlay of ₹13.69 crore.

The gallery will provide interfaces through physical models, virtual reality experience and exhibitions for people to participate in the growth of Amaravati.

The move to develop city gallery comes after undertaking studies in Singapore, Astana, Berlin and Chicago. It is proposed to build a temporary structure near the Amaravati foundation stone area. Various concepts and designs for the city gallery were discussed.

Reviewing the proposals for the development of Rajiv Gandhi River Front Park and integrated transportation plan, Naidu suggested Amaravati should have a robust public transport.

While the main centres in the city should be connected through metro, other centres will be accessible through electric buses and the waterways used for small distance travel.

River front development activities at Varadhi and Pavitra Sangam, aimed at taking up religious and spiritual activities, were discussed.
