Good news for women employees in Telangana. The State Government has announced 90 days of child care leave for its women employees. They can use the leaves in six tranches till their kids turn 18.

The Cabinet, which met here on Friday, has passed a resolution, seeking possession of the temporary buildings allotted for Andhra Pradesh government departments located in Hyderabad. The State government has recently shifted all of its departments to Velagapudi at the State’s new Capital Amaravati, though the bifurcation Act allowed it to use Hyderabad as its Capital for 10 years from 2014.

The Cabinet has decided to seek the permission of the Governor, ESL Narasimhan, who is the governor for both the States, to take possession of the buildings that once housed the AP departments. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has decided to build a new Secretariat for the new State at the existing location.

The Cabinet has also decided to effect changes in the names of six districts, taking into consideration from people of those districts. The Rajanna district will be called Rajanna Sircilla district and Kumuram Bheem district will be rechristened as Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district.

The Cabinet also discussed the piling dues payable under the Arogya Sri (universal health insurance scheme) and fee reimbursement schemes.
