The Department of Chemical Engineering, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, in association with the Gujarat Chemical Association (GCA) will organise the first International Conference on Chemical Industry (ICCI-2014) on August 22 and 23.

Aimed at fostering the development of chemical industries through the promotion of investments and collaboration, ICCI-2014 is being organised as a pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit in association with the Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) of the State Government, according to a press statement here on Tuesday.
The conference aims to bring industrialists, academicians and students under one roof, and will prove vital in fostering relations in the fraternity.
Gujarat Industries Minister Saurabh Patel will be the Chief Guest at ICCI-2014. Indrajit Pal, Secretary, Union Ministry of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, will be the guest of honour.
ICCI-2014 is teaming up with various international organisations such as the University of Houston, Vibrant Holland, the Australian Trade Commission, the Canadian Embassy and the Embassy of Poland, for the purpose.
The event sponsors include iNDEXTb, Reliance Industries, Naroda Enviro Project Ltd, Green Enviro, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer and Chemicals Ltd, United Phosphorous Ltd, Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd, and others.
It will be marked by a CEO Roundtable and an HR Roundtable to discuss various issues related to chemical industries. About 1,200 delegates are expected to attend ICCI 2014.
