Special trains will be operated on Konkan Railway route to clear extra rush of passengers during annual Novenas at Velankanni.
A press release by the Mangalore office of Konkan Railway Corporation said that the train no. 07323 Vasco - Velankanni special train will leave from Vasco at noon on August 30 and September 3. The train will reach Velankanni at 12.25 pm the next day.
The train no. 07324 Velankanni - Vasco special train will leave from Velankanni at 9.45 pm on August 31 and September 4. The train will reach Vasco at 9.30 pm the next day.
The trains will halt at Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Suratkal, Thokur, Mangalore Junction, Kannur, Calicut, Shoranur, Palghat, Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Tiruchchirapalli Junction and Nagapatinam stations, it said.
The trains will have one 3-tier AC coach, 14 second class sleeper coaches, four general coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans, the release added.
