The Goa Government has decided to introduce green concept in all its forthcoming projects to preserve the Coastal State’s scenic beauty, State Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said today.
“For the last 8-9 months, we have been trying to introduce green concept in our projects. We will continue doing that in our future projects,” Parulekar told a conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on ‘Riding the Next Wave of Green Practices’.
The Minister said that “green toilets” would be constructed by the Ministry in tourist spots.
“These toilets will have minimum impact on the surrounding environment during their construction and also during maintenance,” Parulekar said.
He said the Ministry also intends to use solar energy in its forthcoming projects, which are mostly coming up on sunny beaches.
“We are looking towards greener Goa,” he said, adding that the garbage littered across the State would be cleared soon.
