I have found that a morning workout gears both mind and body to face the day ahead. So, I usually begin my day at 8 am with a 45-minute exercise routine
I prefer simple South Indian food. For breakfast, I have generous helpings of fresh fruit along with dosa or idly. Lunch and dinner are usually brown rice and vegetables, with curd-rice mandatorily on the side. I generally avoid sweets and dessert.
By nature, I don’t carry stress around with me. That said, I divert my mind by reading - mostly to stay updated on current affairs. I travel frequently and find long-haul flights relaxing because there is no mobile access – a digital sabbatical in a way - although, of late, this is changing with airlines too now providing data connectivity.
I generally take some time off around the New Year, which has been a ritual for several years. However, these days, I also take short two-to-three-day breaks, maybe twice or thrice a year.
I unwind by catching up on what’s trending on social media mostly, though I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as it can be habit-forming!
