AC maker Voltas on Friday said its market share had increased to 19.8 per cent in May, riding on the back of its ‘All Weather AC’ offering. The company claimed it had retained its No 1 position in the market in fiscal 2012-13. In May, the most critical month in the AC industry, the company’s sales volume had grown by 60 per cent, higher than the competing brands, it claimed. “Voltas' strong performance this May is reflected in various regional achievements as well. In North India, which accounts for almost 38 per cent of the AC market, the brand leads with close to 30 per cent share,” according to a company statement.
