Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) said on Friday it has developed and tested the country's first 1,200-kV ultra-high voltage transformer to be supplied to transmission major Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. “BHEL has indigenously developed, manufactured and tested 1,200-kV Ultra High Voltage Alternating Current Transformer at its Bhopal facility," a company release said. The transformer is to be installed at the country's first experimental 1200-kV National Test Station at Bina (Madhya Pradesh) being set up by Power Grid, it said.
