State-promoted Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (GSFC) on Wednesday reported a 22 per cent increase in net profit and 4.5 per cent in sales in the second quarter of 2014-15, ended September 30, against the corresponding period in the last fiscal. While the company’s sales were ₹1,482 crore (₹1,418 crore), profit after tax (PAT) was ₹124 crore (₹101 crore) in the period under review, said Atanu Chakraborty, Managing Director, in a statement here. He attributed the performance to the consistency in supply of raw materials such as benzene, sulphur ammonia etc.

This year’s sales turnover was the highest in the last five years. GSFC’s equity shares were sub-divided from its face value of ₹10 per share to ₹2 per share.
