Winners of the Media Abby Awards 2011, to celebrate excellence in the use of media, were announced at Goafest organised by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and Ad Club Bombay on Friday. Of the 133 short listed entries, 44 were awarded by an eminent jury headed by Mr R Gowthaman, Leader (South Asia), Mindshare India.

Fair Play

This year, there has been a focused effort by the organisers to ensure that the Media and Creative Abby awards stay out of controversy, unlike last year when they were in the news for the wrong reasons. KPMG was brought in as a process partner this year.

Speaking to Business Line , Mr Shashi Sinha, Chairperson of the Creative and Media Abby Awards, and CEO, Lodestar UM, noted, “The Media and Creative Abby Awards are a significant recognition for the advertising industry. There has been a rigorous implementation of systems that we have put in place, and yes, the role of the validation agency KPMG has been important. What we have initiated this year is likely to continue, with a few tweaks to further improve on it.”
