Hindware, the country's largest sanitaryware maker, plans to add 20 speciality home interior stores by December.

It has nine such home interior retail outlets in the NCR. The expansion is part of the Rs 250 crore plan of the bath solutions major to enter the home interior business.

Hindware's Evok interior stores showcase a range of home (interior) products and services ranging from furniture, furnishing and bath products, modular kitchens, flooring, decorative lighting, home décor and lifestyle accessories sourced and coordinated from across the world.

“The intention is to offer discerning consumers a single-window home fashion and interior solution driven by themes that accentuate their lifestyle,” said Mr D. K. Jairath, COO and Business Head, Hindware Home Retail.

The home stores will come in Mumbai, Vashi, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata.

Key differentiator

Mr Jairath said a key differentiator in services offered by the company is its end-to-end solutions right from visualising the space and interiors to selecting the products that fit in and installing them. The stores will offer a premium range of living, kitchen and bath concepts. They will have over 16,000 products in home, furniture, modular kitchens, laminated flooring, bath fitting and lightings.

Evok's ‘design-to-build' service will help customers visualise their homes with lifelike 3D pictures and walkthroughs of the house after placing in products they want to buy from the Evok stores. All technical drawings are taken care of by the company and the sites inspected by experts at regular intervals to keep a check on quality and cost. Evok will also provide warranty on its products.

Apart from the residential segment, services are also provided to commercial spaces.

Mr Jairath said only the wealthy could afford the services of interior designers whereas Evok would offer the same quality of service at an affordable level. For a 1,500 sq ft apartment, the home solutions could come as low as Rs 3 lakh, including designer charges. The upper band would vary depending on what the customer chose, he said.

Hindware Home Retail expects to close the current fiscal with revenues of over Rs 75 crore and next year at Rs 110 crore.
