Kitchen appliances major Kutchina plans to open 20 ‘kitchen studios' for the premium segment by the end of this financial year (2012-13). Kitchen studios are outlets that provide modular kitchen designs. The Kolkata-based kitchenware maker posted nearly 66 per cent growth in revenues to Rs 125 crore in 2011-12.
“We are planning to roll out 20 kitchen studios across the country by 2012-13 to cater to high-end individuals,” Mr Namit Bajoria, Director, Kutchina, said on the sidelines of the launch of the first studio here on Monday. The second studio is likely to be rolled out in Guwahati by October. Targeted mainly at urban working families, the modular kitchen solutions are priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. Kutchina plans to sell 70 units in 2012-13. Currently, the chimney segment accounts for 75 per cent of Kutchina's revenue.
