Madhucon Projects Ltd has posted a lower net profit of Rs 14.95 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, against Rs 19.29 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The company's income for the fourth quarter was lower at Rs 432.32 crore, against Rs 593.39 crore for the same period last year. While the income for the financial year ended March 31 was higher by 6 per cent at Rs 1,802.47 crore against Rs 1712.89 crore, the net profit for the year was up 13 per cent at Rs 36.50 crore as against Rs 32.40 crore. The company subsidiary, Madhucon Infra, has a portfolio of nine road projects valued at Rs 7,000 crore. Of these, four toll projects have been commissioned and are generating revenues. Madhucon has achieved financial closure for three road projects. The company commissioned unit one of 150 MW of phase one of the Simhapuri project coming up near Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. It expects to commission another 150 MW unit by June. Madhucon is executing the 1920 MW thermal plant at Simhapuri.In a statement, Madhucon said it has an order book of Rs 7,700 crore and is prequalified for EPC projects worth Rs 20,000 crore.

Madhucon shares quoted down 2.55 per cent on Monday to close at Rs 45.95.
