RINL ready to develop first captive mine in Rajasthan

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Visakhapatnam Steel Plant) has recorded a growth of 5 per cent in liquid steel production and 13 per cent in bar products during the month of July according to a press release. The company posted a cumulative growth of 9 per cent in saleable steel production during the period April - July.
Captive power generation has increased by 4 per cent during the month of July.
Sinter production from the new plant has commenced and the unit is likely to be stabilised soon.
A.P Choudhary, CMD, RINL said that "the plant is fully geared up to supply additional volume of long products to meet the demand which is likely to rise steeply with the Government announcement on infrastructure projects."
RINL sold about 2 lakh tonnes of steel with a growth of 19 per cent during July and a cumulative growth of 4 per cent during April – July. Value-added steel recorded growth of 21 per cent in July with a cumulative growth of 10 per cent in April- July.
The turnover in July is higher by 7 per cent. However, the cumulative turnover is lower by 10 per cent due to a sluggish market.
