NTPC and the Excellence Enhancement Centre of the Central Electricity Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding for setting up a joint research project to reduce fly ash emission from power plants. As part of the MoU, the two organisations will research Electro-Static Precipitator (ESP) performance improvement through Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD). NTPC will carry out CFD modelling to analyse and correct flue gas patter inside the ESP. EEC in partnership with VGB Germany will provide the knowledge input required for the project.
