Super-Max Personal Care, the world's second largest manufacturer of razor blades, is planning to launch some of its products being sold in the US and European markets in India.

“We will be launching our four-blade disposable razors and battery-operated razors in the Indian market in the next quarter,” Mr Ajay Bindroo, CEO of the company, told media persons here on Tuesday.

The company launched its new retail initiative in Hyderabad — ‘Wonder on Wheels' — the second city for the launch after Jaipur.

Through the initiative, the company intends to reach out to one million retail outlets across the country, deploying 2,000 company-branded motorcycles which will deliver the products to the retail outlets on a real time basis.

Super-Max, which has three manufacturing units in India, including one each in Hyderabad and Mumbai, is ramping up its production capacity. “We are increasing the capacity of the Hyderabad plant by 40 per cent. This plant is primarily meant for export markets,” he said.

Having one plant in Mexico and another in Bangladesh, the company is planning to set up a greenfield plant in Brazil to expand its geographical reach.

“The Brazil plant will be ready by January next year. At present, we are present in 140 countries,” Mr Bindroo said. India accounts for a share of 35 per cent of the company's global revenues.
