The water supply unit, along with the power supply station for the new wire rod mill, were commissioned on Sunday at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, according to a press release.
Mr P.K Bishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, inaugurated the units taken up as part of the project to expand the capacity of the plant from 3 million tonnes to 6.3 million tonnes.
Mr Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations), Mr A.P Choudhary, Director (Projects), Mr P Madhusudhan, Director (Finance), Mr T.K Chand, Director (Commercial) and Mr K Vidya Sagar, chief vigilance officer, attended the function.
Mr Bishnoi complimented the RINL collective, the consultant and executing agencies for commissioning the units ahead of requirement. He said more units would be commissioned in the coming two-three months as part of the expansion project.
