Asian Paints on Tuesday posted a decline of 3 per cent in its net profit at Rs 171.43 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 177.04 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2010, Asian Paints said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter under review, the company’s net sales stood at Rs 1,607.39, an increase of 24 per cent from Rs 1,296.09 crore posted in the year-ago period.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the firm’s net profit increased marginally to Rs 775.15 crore from Rs 774.50 crore posted in the year-ago period.
During the period the firm’s net sales stood at Rs 6,322.24 crore, a 23.35 per cent jump from Rs 5,125.08 crore posted in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal.
