Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Galantamine tablets. Galantamine tablets are the generic version of Ortho McNeil Janssen Pharmaceutical Inc's Razadyne tablets. They are indicted for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia of the Alzheimer's type. The product had a market size of approximately $41 million for the 12 months ending September 2010. The drug would be launched shortly, the Hyderabad-based company said in a release on Wednesday.
