Birla Corporation Ltd on Friday reported a net profit of Rs 16.64 crore in the first quarter to June 30, 2015 against Rs 99.52 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
In a note to the accounts, the company said that additional electricity liability on electricity consumption of Rs 6.31 crore for its Durgapur unit and Rs 6.90 crore for wage revision in the cement division have shrunk the profits by Rs 13.21 crore.
Total income from operations during Q1 declined to Rs 787.44 crore from Rs 874.82 crore.
