Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company today reported a net loss of Rs 27.57 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013, due to higher expenses.
It had reported a net loss of Rs 27.50 crore in the April -June quarter of the previous fiscal, Bombay Dyeing said in a filing to the BSE.
However, company’s Q1, 2013-14 income from operation increased to Rs 516.37 crore, compared to Rs 475.73 crore in the year-ago period.
The company’s Q1 revenue from the textiles segment was Rs 109.81 crore, as against Rs 91.35 crore for the corresponding period of 2012-13 fiscal.
Bombay Dyeing revenue from polyester segment also increased to Rs 297 crore. It was Rs 289.99 crore in the first quarter of last year.
Its Q1 revenue from real estate segment was Rs 121.68 crore, as against Rs 106.82 crore in the year-ago period.
The company scrip closed at Rs 39.05 on the BSE, down 7.24 per cent from its previous close.
