Diversified major DCM Shriram Industries today said the company’s net loss narrowed down to Rs 0.13 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2013.
The company had registered a net loss of Rs 5.06 crore in the same quarter last year, DCM Shriram said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Net income rose marginally to Rs 276.41 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal compared to Rs 274.21 crore in the same period corresponding year.
The company’s total expenditure, however, remained lower at Rs 266.57 crore against Rs 274.74 crore in the same period in the preceding fiscal.
The company is a diversified business group with operations in sugar, alcohol, organic and inorganic chemicals, drug intermediates, rayon tyrecord, shipping containers and processed cotton yarn.
Shares of the company today rose by 2.84 per cent to settle at Rs 39.90 apiece from previous close at the BSE.
