Oil explorer, ONGC Ltd has appointed Debasis Basu, Group General Manager (Production) as Asset Manager of ONGC Ahmedabad Asset with effect from November 1 2017.
Basu, who has more than 35 years of rich experience in the petroleum sector, took over the charge on Wednesday.
An alumnus of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, from where he did his graduation in Petroleum Engineering in 1981, Basu was involved in reservoir modeling under the aegis of Institute of Reservoir Studies.
During his posting in Assam, he was involved in maintenance and improvement of remotely situated isolated Borholla and Champang fields of Assam Asset.
Basu was posted to Mumbai High Asset in 1991 where he worked in different offshore platforms in various capacities.
In 1996, he was transferred to Mehsana and was involved in In-situ Combustion project, a form of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technique in Balol and Santhal fields of Mehsana Asset.
Thereafter, he was posted in Mumbai High from 2005 and was involved in various revamping activities of all offshore platforms of Mumbai Offshore Assets. He was also involved in approval and execution of various pipeline replacement projects, development projects and re-certification of offshore facilities.
Prior to joining Ahmedabad, he was posted in Mehsana Asset from 2013 as Head of Surface Operations where he steered production through complications encountered in EOR production of different fields.
