Kishore Biyani-owned Future Group has filed an appeal with the Delhi High Court’s divisional bench against an order restraining Future Retail from its deal with Reliance Industries.
Last week, a single-judge bench of the Delhi High Court upheld an interim stay awarded by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) based on an appeal by Amazon. The court had also directed attachment of properties of Future Group’s promoters and directors along with a fine of Rs 20 lakh.
The new appeal by Future is set to be heard by the divisional bench on March 22.
According to legal sources, the appeal is mainly to set aside the order passed by the single-judge bench. “The appeal includes a plea against the attachment of the properties, the fine, and possible detention of the Biyanis.”
