GAIL (India) Ltd and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd have signed a gas cooperation agreement to create natural gas supply infrastructure in the State.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa, today according to an official press release.
The MoU provides for GAIL to create a gas pipeline infrastructure across the State.
The agreement follows a previous MoU between the two in 2008 when GAIL and Tidco signed a pact to create a joint working group to assess the medium and long-term demand potential for gas and assess the infrastructure that needs to be created. GAIL was to handle the infrastructure creation, with Tidco, the State Government industry facilitator, playing a supportive role.
