FMCG major ITC Ltd has resumed production at its cigarette factories. Production was suspended since May 4 over the large pictorial warning issue.

The Kolkata-based diversified conglomerate has five units located at Kolkata (West Bengal), Pune (Maharashtra), Munger (Bihar), Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Bengaluru (Karnataka). These units cater to both domestic and export demand.

“The cigarette factories are commencing production progressively,” ITC had said in a BSE filing on Sunday.

On May 5, ITC had said it has shut down its production till the time it is able to comply with the "interim requirements" of 85 per cent pictorial warnings.

ITC’s cigarette range includes a variety of brands such as India Kings, Classic, Gold Flake, Navy Cut, Capstan, Bristol, Flak and Silk Cut.

The ITC stock was trading at Rs 323.00, up by 1.83 per cent, around 1.11 PM, at the BSE today.
