Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd has reported a 6.1 per cent drop in its net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2015-16 at ₹ 64.9 crore. In the same quarter last year, the company had posted a net profit of ₹ 69.1 crore.
The drop in net profit was despite a 53.1 per cent increase in its total income during the first quarter at ₹ 1,209.37 crore as against ₹ 787.02 crore in the same quarter last year.
At 3.08 pm, the company’s shares were trading 16.52 per cent higher on the BSE at ₹ 7.83.
