Engineering major Larsen & Toubro today said it has secured orders worth Rs 1,401 crore in the current month from both India and abroad.
The Power Transmission and Distribution business of the company bagged orders worth Rs 605 crore in January, including one from a client in West Asia, the company said in a release.
The Transportation Infrastructure business bagged Rs 320 crore order for various civil works for the Sindhudurg airport project in Maharashtra.
The work includes construction of runway, taxiway, passenger terminal building and air traffic control tower among others.
Defence segment got Rs 476 crore order for designing and constructing infrastructure at an airbase in Uttar Pradesh.
“The scope of the works include construction of ramp, aircraft maintenance unit, engine storage warehouse...and other works like roads, utilities and parking at Ghaziabad,” the release said.
L&T’s shares were trading at Rs 1,549 apiece during the afternoon trade in the BSE, down 0.96 per cent over the previous close.
