Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd on Monday posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 194.83 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 as against Rs 138.90 crore recorded during the same period of previous fiscal.
The company said consolidated results include financial results of acquired entities, hence the figures are not comparable with previous periods.
The company, through its subsidiary, Samvardhana Motherson Polymers Ltd and Samvardhana Motherson Global Holdings Ltd, completed the acquisition of 80 per cent stake in Peguform GmbH and Peguform Iberica, in November 2011.
Net sales of the company for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 stood at Rs 6,368.22 crore against Rs 2,317.74 crore in the corresponding period of last year.
For the year ended March 31, 2012, the company posted a lower net profit of Rs 259.84 crore. It stood at Rs 390.80 crore in 2010-11 fiscal.
The company recommended a dividend of Rs 2.25 per share for the year ended March 31, 2012.
Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems were trading at Rs 162.50 on the BSE in late afternoon trade, down 1.81 per cent from its previous close.
