NTPC Ltd said on Wednesday that it has sold surplus power from its stations in Singrauli, Vindhyanchal, Rihand, Unchahar and Dadri through the power exchanges for the first time. In a statement, the power generator said it has sold 3.7 million units of power through the power exchanges till date. NTPC was allowed to sell surplus power on the exchanges after the amendment to the Tariff Policy made by the Centre earlier this year. Power generating companies are now allowed to sell surplus power in the market.
