Reliance Power Ltd has said that its Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) is on schedule and the coal supply linked to the project will be made available on time.
In a communication to the stock exchanges, in response to news reports relating to the project, the company said coal production from the mines associated with the Sasan UMPP would be on time to meet the requirement of the project. Also, the land referred to in the article is predominantly non-coal bearing area and is required for stocking over-burden removed from the coal mine area.
The issue mentioned in the report is being addressed by the company under the leadership of Ministry of Coal, Government of India, and it would not impact the project timelines including production of coal, Reliance Power said.
