The Indian subsidiary of French multi-national corporation Schneider Electric has evolved a turnkey, solutions-based approach for data centres to be developed for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in India.
These turnkey solutions can be designed, integrated and deployed rapidly, thereby saving on time and overall costs. This could be either on site, or integrated elsewhere and shifted to the site, depending on the requirement. Customers will also be able to avail the services of experts to mange these facilities, said Amod Ranade, General Manager, Schneider Electric IT Business in India.
Speaking to Business Line on the sidelines of the CII Energy Efficiency Summit, he said the €24-billion Schneider Electric has acquired more than a dozen companies in India and continues to expand its portfolio of services.
“We continue to grow our presence in large data centres, directly offering our suite of services and solutions or complementing the products offered by other partners such as HP, Dell, IBM, Intel and Hitachi,” he said.
“It is estimated that about 50,000 companies in the small to medium segment require data centre services. They may have a very small requirement and scale up to bigger centres. Therefore, we have combined the expertise of several businesses such as cooling systems, batteries, software, data centre management and provided a holistic solutions approach,” said Ranade.
