A new Starbucks store was opened at Thane in suburban Mumbai early this week.
Starbucks Coffee is a 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages Ltd.
Spread across a sprawling 1,300 sq ft, the Starbucks store is located on the upper ground floor of Korum mall. The contemporary heritage style of this store’s design boasts of global coffee history and features the Starbucks siren and a mural of Starbucks first store in Seattle’s historic Pike Place market.
The store weaves the coffee story into its design and decor, from the hand chalked graphics to the use of deep grained woods, tufted fabrics and ornate metalwork.
Starbucks entered the Indian market in October 2012 and currently operates over 17 stores in India.
The Korum mall is developed by Kalpataru Retail Ventures. The mall sports over 125-plus prominent brands.
