The ongoing strike by workers of the Royal Enfield plant at Oragadam, Chennai, has been called off after an agreement was reached between the employees’ union and the management on Thursday evening.
The management has agreed to look into the issues raised by the workers’ union once they resume work. “All workers will report to duty from tomorrow (Friday) morning,” said R Sampath, Vice-President, Working People Trade Union Council, and Vice-President of Royal Enfield Employees’ Union.
The strike began on September 25, when members of the union demanded a settlement on their charter of demands, including a wage hike.
