TiE to host corporate cricket league

TiE Hubli chapter which has floated ‘Corporate Olympiad' - a platform to promote sports culture among corporates in North Karnataka is holding its maiden cricket tournament in February.

According to Mr Ravi Karnool, Program Manager, TiE Hubli, “Corporate Cricket League 2011, a part of TiE Corporate Olympiad will commence from February 13 and the final will be on March 6.”

“This cricket tournament is for the local corporates located in the twin cities of Hubli-Dharward. All the games will be held in the BVB College ground at Hubli,” he added.

About 12 teams have confirmed their participation in TiE Hubli Corporate Cricket League 2011.

Companies are Deshpande Foundation, NS Infotech, Sankalp Semi Conductors, Spandana Copper Conductors, Mahaveer Infoway, Navya Biotech, Swarna Jewellers, Bellad & Co, Elegant Drugs, Unified and Stupa Softtech, Metcut Sports.

Talking about ‘Corporate Olympiad', Mr Karnool said: “Olympiad aims to create a cohesive atmosphere amongst corporates operating in twin cities, to motivate the employees working for these corporates, to bring in a healthy competitive atmosphere amongst corporate and also to add a touch of fun and try to decrease the stress levels of corporate employees.”

Mr Karnool said, “In addition to cricket, the Olympiad has identified as many as six different events for men and women.”

Corporates based in Hubli-Dharwad having sporting clubs/team and interested to participate can register before January 31 for the cricket league.
