Management institutes should act as talent farmers, according to Dr M.S. Moodithaya, Director of the Mangalore-based Centre for Global Initiatives of Nitte University.
Delivering an expert lecture on ‘Leadership and entrepreneurship' at the management student exchange programme, organised by the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte, he said that management involves selective choices and decisions. To groom the future managers is not an easy task. Critical skills need to be inculcated in them for action-oriented performance, he said.
Stressing the need for management institutes to become talent farmers, he said students should have skills to face the challenges of corporate world.
Dr N.K. Thingalaya, Chairman of the academic council of the institute, said that such exchange programmes will provide a good exposure for management students. It will build confidence among them, he added.
Prof K.R. Karnik, Director of the institute, welcomed the gathering.
