Canada on Friday expressed desire to collaborate with Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in sectors such as natural gas, mineral and general engineering sector. In turn, India assured Canada of full co-operation for the development of in both countries.
Disclosing this, an official statement said Mr Virbhadra Singh, the Union Minister of MSME, held a meeting here with the High Commissioner of Canada, Mr Stewart Beck, and his officials. Mr Beck gave the background of Canadian small business sector which is facing similar problems of financing and marketing. He informed that there is a SME Advisory Committee in Canada which is responsible for giving policy advice to this sector and suggested that the experience of this Committee would be shared with Indian Government.
The MSME Secretary Mr U K Varma said sharing of best experiences between the two countries should be the first step. In addition, he suggested that there should be a follow up meeting to concretize the steps to be taken for structured dialogue for enhancement of dialogues between the MSME sectors of the two countries.
