The US Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, travels to Delhi and Mumbai early this week to participate in the Third US-India Economic and Financial Partnership meeting.
The US Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, will also be here to participate in the partnership meeting on October 9. Incidentally, this will be the first visit by a US Fed Reserve chief since the time George Bush was President.
Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will lead the Indian delegation for the meeting. The annual US-India Economic and Financial Partnership meeting will focus on growing economic ties, efforts to advance economic reforms and boost growth.
Bernanke will also meet Reserve Bank of India Governor D. Subbarao during the visit.
During his stay in Delhi, Geithner will also participate in a discussion hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the US-India Business Council.
On October 10, Geithner will travel to Mumbai to meet Subbarao and Indian business leaders .
